Slipping Under

This One is for the LAAADDYYYYYY'S

So, I've noticed as Summer brightens and brightens that everyone is sporting their beautiful dresses, and lovely skirts mixed and matched in splendid ways.

Want to know what else I've noticed?

I can see through your dress my dear!

I mentioned it to a friend recently, and she said, what are we supposed to do?
I had no idea that the idea of a slip had...slipped away.
It was ingrained into me as a kid. Wear A Slip! my mom would say.
I'd whine and go do as I was told.
Am I the only one not loving that I can see the silhouette of every set of legs wearing a wind-blown skirt this summer? It's so easy to wear a slip! So get to slippin' ladies!

As I already said, my mom nagged me to wear these as a young whipper-snapper. When I was in middle school she bought me a white slip for my skirts. Said slip is also pictured above. When my best friend found out how old my regularly used slip is, she gave it the title, "Old Faithful" which we still call it all the time!

1 Corinthians 6:19-20
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.

  1. I agree. I just picked up a short slip a few months ago and it has made such a difference! I don't know how I was walking around without one before!

    1. You could find one any department store. Kohls has some inexpensive ones too.

    2. Target has a fairly good selection as well.

  3. I am so with you girl! It's always better to play it safe--that, and I've found that slips actually help some of my skirts to lay better, too! :)

  5. Haha...I actually do have a slip! I used to wear it more often but I kind of stopped because I either felt like you couldn't see through my skirts or they had a double lining so I figured I was fine :-) But if you can see through my skirt in my outfit photos next time let me know!

  6. Haha, this is such a good idea - I never had a slip but maybe it's time to invest... I have this problem with all my cotton summer dresses, and maybe this is the perfect solution! Also, let me know how your getting on with the denim photos, your probably very busy so take as much time as you need :)
    Have a great week! Xoxo

    2. Great! No problem at all, I'm not sure how well our photos will turn out in comparison to yours, but hey ho! Glad to know they're on the way, can't wait!

  7. I think of this and what my mom taught me also. Always be safe and wear a slip! Of course, these days and the fashions that have come with them, many 'skirts' and 'dresses' are way too short to even be able to wear a slip with. And I name them with quotations because I have a hard time calling them that. : 0 Thank you for stepping out and posting this!

    1. So true. dresses are pretty short these days. But I've been finding some good length ones recently.

  8. A good reminder! I always wear one under see-through dresses, but your photo reminded me it can be good for dresses that the wind lifts (why has that never occurred to me?!?). Wearing one yesterday totally saved my dignity! :D

  9. Definitely a great reminder! I am so picky when it comes to buying dresses and skirts. If it has a chance that it could be see-thru - I just don't but it! I recently bought a yellow dress and realized it did that - cutest dress ever but I just couldn't wear it knowing :P
