Peek-A-Boo

The fun things about this outfit:
1. Bracelet - Thrifted
2. Skirt - Thrifted & shortened
3. Earrings - Thrifted
4. Necklace - Friends Jewelry Company
5. Shoes - Steve Madden

Well the sun is playing a daunting game of peek-a-boo. So here and there I feel
like summer and then there's those times I feel like it's the last days of winter.
So There's been a lot of t-shirt wearing going on these days.
It's easy to slip a sweater on over top.

James 4:13-15
Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a
town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”— yet you do not
know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that
appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say,
"If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.”

Stripes

The fun things about this outfit:
1. Shirt - Hand-Me-Down
2. Pants - impulse buy back when I shopped full price.
3. Shoes - Target
4. Earrings - Hand-Me-Down

Well, I noticed the other day that stripes are taking over my closet. So from now until September, I'm promising myself that I wont purchase any new striped anything. (Even if it is amazingly thrift priced.)

I was invited to a group called "Hello Mornings" by a friend at church. It's purpose is to keep each other accountable for waking up early enough to start you day by spending some time in the Bible. Some ladies have made exercise goals too, but I've been doing that at random times so I didn't think it made sense to make myself do it in the morning. I'm pretty excited for the encouragement and accountability starting May 6th! Wish me luck, I'm not a fan of waking up any earlier than I already do.

Mark 1:35
And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed. (Example of Jesus)

Bloopers & Laughs

Doing things a little different today!

I'm sure I'm not the only one out there who finds some hilarious facial expressions as I go through the daily outfit photos. Not to mention I'm pretty tall, so I'm taller than my photographer Hannah. So I pretty much always find myself squatting down for close up shots. I have to just take it all in stride and laugh when I see the mid sentence faces and awkward squat in heels shots. I've been saving them up for this very post! BLOOPERS. I figured I'd send you all some laughs too!

Enjoy!

I'm loving today! All week the sun has been shining and I even started to sweat in my car today... I know that wasn't really a glamorous fact for public sharing, but there it is. I'm not really one to be a faker so if a little perspiration happens it happens.

I realized I hadn't shared links to the books on Heaven that I've been reading.
So here they are:

Job 19:25-27
For I know that my Redeemer lives,
and at the last he will stand upon the earth.
And after my skin has been thus destroyed,
yet in my flesh I shall see God,
whom I shall see for myself,
and my eyes shall behold, and not another.
    My heart faints within me!

2. Shirt - Hand-Me-Down
3. Earrings - Friends Jewelry company.
4. Shoes - Target

Well, the sun is shining people! I can't complain.
I have an incredible job. I have incredible family. I have some dear ladies in my life.
My office has a breeze from outside blowing in and I'm loving the colorful creation
from my window. And mostly, I'm in love with the Creator!
Yep! Today, is definitely a good one!

Then again, crossfit is about to kick my butt in a couple hours.
But that seems like a good pain!

The heavens declare the glory of God,
and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.
Day to day pours out speech,
and night to night reveals knowledge.

I love Wednesdays

The fun things about this outfit:
1. White Jeans - Thrifted & Skinnied
2. Stripe Shirt - Hand-Me-Down
3. Sweater - Thrifted (back when i first became a thrifter)
4. Necklace - Both Thrifted
5. Shoes - Target
6. Bracelets - Both thrifted

I have to say... I love Wednesdays! I start them off with my high school girls at Bible study,
where we are currently studying Heaven! It's been great conversation.
I seriously love having these girls in my life!

I pick a couple of the girls up on my way, and I have to say I was pretty proud of my car this morning when they got in. I totally washed my car myself yesterday, which usually I'm to lazy to do and I hit up a drive through. But then I got really motivated, pulled out the shop vac, and went to town vacuuming the floors and seats. This, of course, means I had to clean out the junk that was covering the floors and seats first. Now I have that "Oh YEAH" feeling, when I tell myself I'll never let it get that bad again...
Only time will tell.
But I think it will probably be telling me to clean my car again!

Romans 12:1-2
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies
as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.
Do not be conformed to this world,[c] but be transformed by the renewal of
your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good
and acceptable and perfect.

who gives me some of the best hand-me-down shirts ever! Seriously love her!

I thought I share a random fact about myself today.
I love hymns.
Not jazzed up turn an old song new hymns either. I like them old and slow and with no bass.
(well, sometimes I like them jazzed up...but rarely).
I'd love to hear some random facts about you all out there. Please?

Pink Pants

The fun things about this outfit:
1. Jeans - Thifted (bleached from blue, then dyed pink & skinnied)
2. Shirt - Hand-Me-Down
3 Shoes - Target

Well I recently washed these jeans and instantly saw that I hadn't washed them with any
other clothes before. Needless to say, there was immediately a bleach load! Booo, pink jeans.

I kick started my day with an intense crossfit workout. I was panting by the end!
But I have to say, it was better than last Monday when I spent the 10 minutes following
my workout laying on the floor trying to decide if I was still alive.

Then I snagged some lunch with a Bonnie, who I haven't seen in a while.
Check her out over at The Whim Wham Life
And since I was in the area I called up my friend Jennifer (who gave me that
hand-me-down shirt) and went over to visit her! Great fun!

Hebrews 4:14-16
Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus,
the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest
who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has
been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the
throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Sister Swap: Corn Pudding

So you may be confused by the name "Corn Pudding" but stick around because my
sister Rachel is going to share a household recipe that has become a family tradition.
If it makes you stay, let's call it Corn Bread Pudding.
MMM, my mouth is watering already so with that I'll let her take it away!
___________________________________

This recipe has LONG been a favorite in our family. It shows it's face at all holidays and several large family gatherings a year. Naomi and I are just a little addicted. As in, the holiday would probably be ruined if we didn't have corn pudding. (Well that's a slight exaggeration.) So here it is:

Corn Pudding
1-16 ounce can whole kernel corn
1-16 ounce can creamed corn
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 cup sour cream
1-8 1/2 ounce package corn muffin mix (I usually use a Jiffy box, but it works just as well with 1 cup corn muffin mix of any brand)
1 cup grated cheddar cheese

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Mix all ingredients-except cheese-in medium to large bowl.
3. Pour into a 13x9 baking pan.
4. Bake for 20-30 minutes (it really depends on the oven, I've done 20 and up to 40), until it looks fairly cooked through or set.
5. Sprinkle cheese on top and cook for approximately 10 more minutes.
6. Serve with your favorite meal and enjoy!
