Tasty Tuesdays: Sundried Tomato & Pesto Chicken Sandwich

Welcome to Tasty Tuesday.

Sometimes I just need a quick bite and not a whole turn upside
down every pan in the kitchen type of meal.
And I am a little bit of a sandwich lover too...
So this here meal... just happened one day.

Disclaimer: I didn't snag a photo of the finished closed sandwich
because my taste buds just couldn't wait any longer. Sorry folks.

Ingredients:
Baguette Bread

Pesto (I used Basil Pesto from Costco)

Sun Dried Tomatoes (you'll need the oil inside the jar too)

Cream Cheese

Cooked Chicken (I just salt & peppered mine)

Directions:
Cut your baguette sandwich style.
Remove about 8-12 pieces of sun dried tomato from the jar and dice them up.
Dump those in with the cream cheese and add a little of the oil from the sun dried
tomato jar. I only had enough cream cheese for this left in my tub so I just used it to mix.
Mix well.

Drizzle (love that word) some of the oils from the tomato's onto your
bread and put that in the oven to lightly toast it while you slice your chicken.
(don't forget or it will be much more than toasted.)

Once your chicken is sliced remove your bread, if you haven't already, from the oven.
On one side of your bread spread your cream cheese/tomato mix.
On the other side, spread your pesto.
Top one with your sliced chicken and close your sandwich.

Put that back in the oven for a short time just to toast it all together.

I hope you all enjoy!

Hebrews 4:14-16
Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus,
the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest
who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect
has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to
the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Thankful Thursday: Gifts

The fun things about this outfit:
Sweater - Free, Jeans - Buckle, Shoes - Target, Bracelet - Thrfited, Necklace - HomeMade

This necklace started from an old chain found in my mom's garage and a short skirt
that makes a tall girl like me look like I'm showing a little too much badonkadonk.

Here's how I created it:
1. Pick some materials.
2. Cut strips of fabric. (try to choose something that doesn't fray)
3. Get your piles of fabrics set out and ready to go.
4. Tie lots of knots!
5. Wear that thing like a boss!

All this brings me to what I'm thankful for...
I'll be joining my sister Rachel for her monthly theme of Thankful Thursdays
So appropriately kicking off today on Thanksgiving!

I'm so incredibly thankful for having the ability to cut strips of fabric. And that I'm able to tie a knot.
I love that I have a mind that can be creative when I see an old skirt and a bulky chain.
I'm just so incredibly grateful that God has given me the gift of craftiness... I know it's not on
the list of spiritual gifts, but I'm claiming it as God given anyways!

James 1:17
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the
Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.

Mark 7:14-15
And he called the people to him again and said to them, “Hear me, all of you, and understand: There is nothing outside a person that by going into him can defile him,
but the things that come out of a person are what defile him.”

Leaving On A Jet Plane... For Realz

The fun things about this outfit:
Dress & Belt - Old Navy Sale, Boots - Nordstrom,
Necklace - Made by Me, Earings - Chase Me Again Thrift Store

I wore this outfit about 2 weeks ago...which is a testament to how little I've been blogging.

I've been really bad this past week about posting.
Just a couple excuses even though I know it may not matter.
I had a friend in town visiting, and then I've been getting ready for something a little different...

Yep. I'm leaving.
I'm flighing across the pond... TODAY

I'm going to Basque Country! And I'm sooooo excited!

That means you'll need to give some love next week to the gracious ladies who are covering.
They are so wonderful and got me some help last munite,
because this trip sort of snuck up on me and I didn't blog plan very well.

So come late October, I'll be back in the swing of things and posting regularly.
But until then I'll be a little hit and miss... But hey, my life is more than blogging.

{Yes, take a moment to gasp if you must, but it's true!}

So farewell, my friends.

Luke 9:23-24
And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his crossdaily and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.

Black & White Dress

The fun things about this outfit:
Dress - Target uber sale, Shoes - Target, Bracelet - Thrifted, Earrings - Made by Me

So as I went through last weeks photos to post, I realized that I felt a little silly
posting that sleeves were back on Monday. I should have waited until the end of the
week, because last week the sun was still shining brightly and I have a few more
sun dresses to show you all. Oh well, live & learn.

2 Thessalonians 2:13
But we ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers beloved
by the Lord, because God chose you as the firstfruits to be saved, through
sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth.

Shoe Eulogy

Listen, I think I need to start a monthly "Windy" post. It never fails to attack at the moment of pictures on some days. And I always have to just laugh it off, because let's be honest... the hair is so out of control that who could be mad?

The fun things about this outfit:
Skirt - Refashioned, Shirt - Old!, Shoes - ShoeCafe24.com, Belt - Thrifted ($1), Necklace - HomeMade

Sometimes, in life, you have to face the facts.
Possessions wont last forever.
Things will eventually loose their worth.
As quickly as the wind blows my amazon hair in a thousand directions,
so the tangible things in this life will be here and then gone.

{And that my friends was a Shoe Eulogy}

I'll miss these good ol' shoes. They had a lot of wear!
They didn't last as long as I liked
But I liked them as long as they lasted.

On to bigger and better things, here is a verse that shouts for joy,
instead of mourning over silly things like shoes... (which can will be replaced!)

Pslam 93:5
Your decrees are very trustworthy;
holiness befits your house,
Lord, forevermore.
