Well I feel a little lame.

I was going to write today about how I feel like I've been in and out of a regular blog posting sched. And how I'm sorry to you small amount of readers who have missed me...hopefully you're still out there!

Yep, that type of post.

Then what happens? I get on bloglovin'
Start reading around the block a time or two.
And it seems that a ton of people are in the same shoes as me.
Maybe it's a time of year when people get busy and real life
doesn't allow us to share it as much with our interweb friends.
Needless to say, I'm glad I'm not alone on my random days of no posts, and feeling busy.

Touche life! Touche!

In the midst of feeling so overly busy, I had a conversation where I poured my overwhelmed little heart out and a friend suggested I go on a personal retreat...

A what?

That's right. A day alone. Thinking. Planning. Praying. Reading. Doing.
You know how that TO-DO list grows so fast that you don't realize it's turning into a Novel instead of a list? That's how I felt. And so I planned and got ready and yesterday I took a self retreat. I was introduced to this sweet house where it was free to stay overnight in a B&B type house for anyone in ministry. It was pretty great. And I'm pretty pumped to say that I checked every single thing off my list that I had made for that day! I spent a lot of time in prayer. And I left feeling all together rejuvenated and ready to go.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:

a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;

a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;

a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

a time to seek, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

a time to tear, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

a time to love, and a time to hate;
a time for war, and a time for peace.

  1. You definitely haven't been alone - I've had about a week of no posts.

  3. You are definitely not alone! I had all these posts planned for after I returned from my trip to Europe, but I have just been completely overwhelmed and tired :( I decided it's summer and I just need to relax! So that's what I'm doing, even if I don't get many blog posts up. A retreat alone sounds pretty awesome. I like the idea of scheduling a specific time to be alone and take time to yourself and to spend with God!
