TGIF

The fun things about this outfit:
Purse - $2 Thrifted, Pants - $4 Thrifted, Shirt - Kohls, Striped Bracelet - Thrifted, Shoes - Target Sale $8

Don't forget to follow via Bloglovin. GFC is almost gone!

First things first, I found this purse for 2 buckaroos at the consignment event I told you about last week. I'm feeling great about it because I've been wanting a white purse for about 6 months now. I'm keeping an eye out always. And I've found some great ones. But for whatever reason, even $7 sounded too much to me. Now I know why. THIS ONE was waiting for me! (PS. I found these pants there too!)

So I have the wonderful experience of actually loving my job.
I know that not everyone gets to say that they really do enjoy what they do.
But I'll be honest, there's something about Friday that is still exciting to me.

I may have shared this verse recently. I'm not sure. But it sure is finding it's way into my life a lot these days.

2 Corinthians 12:9
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Half-Hearted? No Thanks.

The fun things about this outfit:
Dress - $4 Thrifted, Shoes - $8 Thrifted, Belt - $1 Thrifted, Pink Bracelet - $2 Thrifted

I'm pondering the effects of only giving half effort on things today.
Asking myself, what in my life could I be doing better?
What could I be giving my all to, that I'm only running the motions through?
Where am I half committed? Where is it only about, what's in it for me?

And thinking through what needs to change to make sure
I don't stay at a place of half-hearted self motivated effort.

Here's the thing, I don't want to be viewed as someone who is only somewhat reliable, somewhat committed, or somewhat passionate. But more so, I don't want to reflect Jesus as only somewhat reliable or somewhat committed. And I'm repping Him. It's a big deal.

Philippians 2:3-5
Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus.

P.S. Once again linking up with Faith & Fashion! Check it out! I was spotlighted from last week in today's post.

DIY: Ripped Jeans

The fun things about this outfit:
Jeans - DIY(Instructions Here), Shoes - Ross, Tank - Hand-Me-Down, Bracelet - Thrifed

So I've never been one to like ripped jeans. But this project looked so fun I had to give it
a try. Although when you check out the link to the tutorial you'll see they used sand paper.
I'm a use-what-I've-got type of girl, so I used a cheese grater on my no hole jeans to create these beauties!

Listen, I don't mean to always tell you about the weather, but I have to explain. It's so ridiculously hit and miss here this month. Sun, Rain, Sun, Rain, Overcast, Rain, Sun, What??? So I feel like it looks to all you steady June Sun people that I have a wishy washy closet run by a crazy person. A sweater here, A tank top there. Good grief.

Tangent - who came up whit the saying "Good Grief." Isn't that an oxymoron?

Anyways, this is why there's a heavy sweater in yesterday's post and a tank top today.
The good ol' NW keeps us guessing, and I love it!

On to more meaningful thoughts. Has anyone else noticed lately how beautiful creation is? I love looking out my office window to beautifully green trees, and waking up to light pouring in through the blinds. I love falling asleep to the pitter-patter of rain falling. And I love clouds! Clouds are one of my favorite things in all of creation! So beautiful. This may, again, be crazy to you who are more familiar with clear sunny, blue skies. But I have learned to love the fluffy, white tuffs as they creep across the sky!

Anyone else out there appreciating nature lately?

Don't forget to follow on Bloglovin' because GFC is almost gone.

I'll let the last photo do the rest of the talking...And so goes today.

Before I was afflicted I went astray,
but now I keep your word.
You are good and do good;

Purse Thrifting

Let me get one thing straight. I did NOT buy all these purses in one thrifting trip.
I mean I'm not a crazy purse person here.

But because over the last few months I've found so many good deals, I had to share them!
I will declare this, though, that I will not be buying a new purse for quite a while
(thrifted or otherwise). It was getting a bit out of hand.

So here are the fun facts about the purse finds:
1. Betsey Johnson - $5 at Yard Sale
2. Stone Mountain - $3 Thrifted
3. Coach - $5 Yard Sale
4. Valentino di Paolo - $3 Thrifted
And the strap unzips into a backpack.
5. Saddle River - $2 Thrifted
6. Squared by Sondra Roberts - $7 Foxtrot Vintage
7. Not Sure - $2 Thrifted

I have one more fantastic purse to share with you. I've been searching for a white purse all spring. And if you saw my post last Monday you know I spent the weekend at a consignment event. Well, I found one. So check back later this week to get a peek!

Refashion: Sweatshirt

The fun things about this outfit:
Jeans - Thrifted, Sweatshirt - Hand-Me-Down & Refashioned, Pink Bracelet - Thrifted

Sometimes I forget how big God is. Honestly, how embarrassing to admit, but I'm sure I'm not alone. It amazes me each time He answers prayer. And, come on, He answers prayer in big way's! Sometimes in ways you never expected. Sometimes the answer scares you, because it took you by surprise. Sometime you have to sit in shock for a while before you then realize...yep, that was prayer being answered like a Boss! And sometimes, it's so obvious from the beginning that it was out of your control and 100% Him, that you can't help but through your hands up in awe.

So right now, I'm in awe. And my hands are up. Because my God don't play.

John 14:13-14
Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.

Watch Out! GFC is Outa Here

My friends, the time has come to switch it on over to Bloglovin before it's too late. I'd love to have you all continue following but Google Friend Connect is on the outs in just under 2 weeks.

The fun things about this outfit:
Shoes - Ross, Skirt - Thrifted Refashion, Tank - Target, Necklace - Gift

Remember what this skirt used to look like?
Let's be honest, I was pumped that the lovely sun was out and that I'd been soaking it up lately. But silly ol' me was so distracted by the glorious rays of splendor that I forgot to keep checking the forecast. Needless to say, it was a major shock to me when the downpour started last night.

Let me explain to you who are still experiencing sun...
It was raining so loudly that I heard it in my basement apartment.

First, I rushed upstairs to make sure I hadn't mindlessly left my car windows all down from the day's previous hand-making-waves-out-the-wind-while-driving. Then I zipped to my phone to check the forecast...

What did I see? Wednesday - Rain, Thursday - Rain, Friday - Rain, Saturday - Clouds, Sunday - Rain.

Touche Pacific Northwest, Touche!

Colossians 3:16
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing
one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs,
with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
